Mona Ghassemian is a faculty member of the school of Computer Science and Engineering at Shahid Beheshti University since September 2012. She obtained her Dipl. Eng. in Electrical Engineering from the Ferdowsi University of Mashad in 1997. In 2001 she received the M.Sc. by Research degree in Mobile and personal communication systems from King’s College London – University of London with distinction. From 2001-2004 she worked as a PhD student for a funded project by NTT-DoCoMo with the collaboration of DoCoMo-euro labs in Munich. She was then employed by King’s College as a research assistant in e-Sense European 6th frame project. In 2007 she joined the academic staff in School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences at the University of Greenwich. She has held an honorary visiting research associate position with King’s College London since then.
She has founded an award winning IEEE student branch at University of Greenwich (ieeeGreen.org) in 2010 and currently serves as the secretary of the IEEE UK&RI section since Jan 2012. She is elected to the role of IEEE R8 SAC to work from Jan 2015
